10 Supehero Movies To Your Rescue

After much hype and anticipation, superhero flick Avengers: Age of Ultron debuts in cinemas across Malaysia tomorrow.

In what is guaranteed to be a mega-hit at the box office, the Marvel Studios film basically confirms that superhero movies is a trend that is here to stay. There were many who doubted this movie, but this superhero extravaganza managed to shatter box office records worldwide and become one of the highest-grossing movies of all time!

9) Spiderman 2 (2004)

Making sequels that are better that the original is not an easy thing to do. But Spiderman 2 focused on a deeper emotional conflict for the hero while boasting a very entertaining villain. And by doing so, the movie succeeded to be the best in the franchise.

8) X2: X-Men United (2003)

Another sequel that manages to surpass its impressive predecessor. Right from the sublime opening scene where Nightcrawler infiltrates the White House, audiences were on the edge of their seats.

7) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

Last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past succeeded on all fronts — the story was immersing, the characters were engaging and powerful (you’ll feel a genuine emotional connection with them), and the action was thrilling and exciting. We’ll pick this movie to watch over any of the Oscar nominees last year.

Anyone who’d seen the film Memento before would’ve already known what a good director Christopher Nolan was (and still is). But in this inaugural offering of the Dark Knight trilogy is where he truly announced his arrival to the cinematic world.

5) V for Vendetta (2006)

If you want evidence of the impact made by this movie, look no further than the many Guy Fawkes masks worn by protesters and rebellion groups around the world. In fact we made an article specifically on that said impact, titles “A Rebel To Remember On The Fifth Of November”

4) Captain America: Winter Soldier (2014)

Let’s face it, before this movie came out, Captain America was no one’s favourite superhero. But that all changed once Winter Soldier came out. A magnificent movie with a suspenseful and complex story and impact-filled action scenes that has propelled Captain America into the audience’s hearts.

 3) The Incredibles (2004)

This is Pixar Animations at its finest — a witty, fun-filled, and joyous adventure that still manages to be heart-warming. The recent news that a sequel is in the works has been welcomed with much glee.

2) Iron Man (2008)

Marvel Studios first ever movie — and it debuted with a huge bang! Quite honestly, this film could have been titled “Tony Stark”, as Robert Downey Jr.’s performance as the character was simply monumental!
